Our Pastors and First Lady

“So they are no longer two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let not man put asunder.” -Matthew 19:6

Pastor Roy L. Cook, Sr. and Lady Monica E. Moore-Cook, high school sweethearts, were united in holy matrimony on September 18, 1993. God’s promise came to pass on April 20, 1999; they became proud parents of a son, Roy Lee Cook, Jr. The second seed to bless the Cook family was Deja Marie on April 15, 2002. The arrival of Deyona Monique, the baby of the family, came June 11, 2003. Pastor and Lady Cook thank God for these most precious gifts.

Pastor Cook has been a member of Gospel Tabernacle COGIC since 1994 and Lady Cook has served as Minister of Music at the church since the age of eight. God raised Pastor Cook from the positions of Minister, Elder, and then Assistant Pastor over the course of his time at Gospel Tabernacle. On April 29, 2007, God elevated them to a new place in the kingdom as they were ordained as Pastor & Lady Cook of Gospel Tabernacle COGIC.

Pastor and Lady Cook have demonstrated themselves to be faithful in all aspects of their lives. Pastor Cook has worked for the Glassboro Water Department since 1986 and Lady Cook has been a teacher in the Paulsboro School District since 1994. Both have received many accolades from their respective occupations due to their hard work, and ability to go above and beyond the call of duty. When they are not working hard serving others, they enjoy spending quality time as a family and encourage their members at Gospel Tabernacle to value time with their families.

“We are honored to have been chosen by God for this position. We are excited about what God is doing and going to do in Gibbstown, Paulsboro and neighboring communities. We endeavor to transfer our enthusiasm and knowledge about Jesus to you so that you are equipped to become fishers of men. We are looking forward to embracing you into our GT family where everyone is loved.” -Pastor & Lady Cook
